Guatemala is well-known these days for producing some beautiful jadeite jades - and none more so than the blues found in the deposit mined by the Olmecs centuries ago and lost to the world for some three hundred years. This pendant is carved from an exquisite piece of Princessa blue jadeite that shows some of the snowflake-like patterns common to this material, as well as touches of the golden rind inclusions occasionally seen therein. The form is that of a simple pebble, which with its high gloss has allowed the stone to show off both its patterns and its translucency to best effect.
Measuring in at 56mm long and 44mm wide at its widest point, this pendant is suited to the wearer who would like a substantial piece of jewellery that's still not too outlandishly large. It striking colours make it a great piece for both formal and fancy wear.
