Named for the chatoyant feathers of the shining cuckoo, pipiwharauroa is a term used to describe any shade of nephrite jade that demonstrates the silvery, moving light effect in the body of the stone known as chatoyancy. This pendant show this quality quite strongly, with its pale bluish body tone and olive tints seeming to ripple and move like running water as the pendant is turned in the light. Its high gloss allows this effect to be strongly visible to even the casual observer, and lets the bright blueness in the piece truly stand out.

Measuring in at 57mm long and 28mm wide at its widest point, this piece stands out as a striking feature piece that's guaranteed to be noticed against any outfit. Its chatoyancy is almost mesmerising, and something that it's easy to lose yourself in when you sit and roll the piece in your hands.
